Porquê? Carla: Eu li este livro em inglês, por essa razão, para mim, será sempre o Looking for Alaska. Tal como a Joana irá dizer, eu não gosto de nenhuma das capas, prefiro a original (que não está aqui representada) ainda que, mesmo assim, não seja favorita. Entre as duas que aqui colocamos, prefiro a reedição, uma vez que tem os meus tons favoritos. Adoro azul e gosto do contraste bem marcados da margarida com o background e do titulo amarelo contra o azul escuro.
Joana: Pessoalmente, não sou fã de nenhuma das capas, parece-me que falta qualquer coisa... Mas acho que acabo por gostar mais da azul. Gosto da paleta de cores, prefiro as letras da capa da direita, e acho que a flor fica melhor que a rapariga.

Why? Carla: I’ve read this book in English, so, for that reason, for me, it will always be Looking for Alaska. As Joana will say, I didn’t like any of these covers, I think the original is better (we are not showing it here), although I didn’t love it either. Between these two, I think I prefer the one on the right, because it has one my favourite colours. I love blue, and I love the contrast between the daisy and the background, and the yellow title against the dark blue.
Joana: Personally, I'm not a fan of any of the covers, it seems like something is missing... But I think I prefer the blue cover. I like the colour palette, I prefer the lettering on the right and I think the white flower looks good - definitely better than the girl.

Opinião:
Se seguem o blog há algum tempo, hão-de se lembrar de que eu já escrevi sobre o The Conjuringmais do que uma vez aqui no blog. No Verão passado, numa noite sem nada para fazer, decidi ver este filme e foi dessa forma que entrou imediatamente para o meu top 3 de filmes de terror, como podem ver aqui.
Por essa razão, seria de esperar que eu estivesse super entusiasmada com . Ganhei bilhetes para a antestreia e não podia deixar estar oportunidade passar. Tenho que dizer que James Wan consegue manter a minha vibe assustadora e creepy que tinha o filme anterior, ainda que não ache tão aterrador. Se calhar, uma vez que assistir o primeiro filme em casa sozinha a meio da noite, esse me tenha afectado de forma mais “agressiva”, mas mesmo assim, não achei o The Conjuring 2 tão bom ou melhor que o primeiro – a maldição da sequela, que nunca chega ao mesmo patamar o que primeiro.
Tal como aconteceu com o primeiro filme, este começa com uma, aparentemente, desconexa do enredo principal do filme; rápido nos apercebemos que não é bem assim. Achei que o filme perdeu um pouco porque se arrastou muito a tentar dar enquadramento à estória. James Wan é dos poucos realizadores de terror que sabe utilizar bem aquela linha ténue entre o terror e a comédia sem cair no ridículo. Este filme tem vários momentos de comic relief que servem para deixar o espectador mais calmo e mais à-vontade para depois o atacar com algo assustador.
Apesar de não ter achado este filme tão assustador como o primeiro, isso não significa que tenha sido fraco, pois não o foi. Gostei bastante dele e achei que estava bastante bem realizado. Tenho a dizer que gostei imenso de alguns aspectos de edição do filme (demasiado pormenorizadas para as escrever aqui, mas talvez se o virem irão perceber quais são). É um bom filme de terror e, como sempre digo, os filmes de terror são o meu género favorito, mas são um nicho tão especifico que consigo contar pelos dedos de uma mão aqueles que realmente considero bons. Talvez não fique nessa mão, mas está lá perto.
Toda a minha vida achei que as freiras eram criaturas assustadoras e creepy, este filme só veio a confirmar a minha já comprovada suspeita.

É aí que entra Lucy Abernathy, a melhor amiga dela, sempre disposta a ajudar. Mesmo quando percebe que ela própria sucumbiu ao incurável romantismo de Gregory. Infelizmente, existe um outro “mas”... Pois Lucy está noiva, e tenciona colocar a honra acima dos seus sentimentos. Quanto a Gregory, no momento em que finalmente compreende que os desígnios do coração são mais intrincados do que pensava, já a sua amada vai a caminho do altar. Será que é demasiado tarde?
Opinião:
Chegámos ao fim da colecção dos Bridgertons. Esta família vai deixar saudades.
Este livro deixou algo a desejar na maioria do tempo, apesar de ser bom voltar a ver personagens que se tornaram tão queridas para mim ao longo do tempo. Aqui, Gregory, o homem mais novo dos irmãos Bridgertons (Hyacinth é a mais nova de todos os irmãos), anda à procura do amor que todos os seus familiares conseguiram encontrar. E pensa que quando isso acontecer, vai ser como se um raio o atingisse e puff!, ele e a sua apaixonada seriam felizes para sempre. Claro que não é isso que acontece, e foi muito interessante ver a mudança de perspectiva do Gregory, da Hermione e da Lucy, as três personagens que estão mais interligadas no livro.
Adorei rever Kate e ver que ela continua a mesma, com o mesmo humor e carisma que sempre a caracterizaram. É um prazer rever personagens como ela, o Anthony, e todos os Bridgertons, mas especialmente a mãe de todos eles, a nossa querida Violet.
É uma crítica pequenina porque não tenho muito mais a dizer. Estava à espera de algo mais, tendo em conta que era o último livro da série mas não foi, de todo, mau. Foi divertido, com tiradas inteligentes e, para ser sincera, foi diferente. A minha parte favorita foi o final – 9, uau!

Review:
We’ve reached the end of the Bridgertons’ books. We’re going to miss this family – at least I am.
This book wasn’t as good as previous books, even though it felt so good to see some of my favourite characters again. In this book, Gregory, the youngest of the Bridgertons brothers (Hyacinth is the youngest of all siblings), is looking for love – the kind of love his family members have already found. And he thinks that when he meets THE ONE, he’ll be struck be a lighting, so to speak, and puff!, he and his beloved will live happily ever after. Of course that’s not what happens. I really like watching Gregory, Hermione and Lucy’s evolution throughout the book, it was very interesting (these characters are connected through most of the book).
I loved to see Kate again, she was always one of my favourite characters and it's fantastic to see that after so long, she still kept her defining characteristics, like her wits and charisma. It was an absolute pleasure to see Anthony and the rest of the Bridgertons (even though most of them don’t have an active part in the book) and, most of all, I really liked reconnecting with sweet Violet, the mother of the Bridgertons.
I know it’s a short review, but I don’t have much more to say. I wanted more, considering this way the last book, but it was not bad at all, it was funny and clever, and different, to be honest. My favourite part was the end – 9, wow!

Opinião:
Lembram-se que quando escrevi a crítica de Anomalisa disse estar curiosa sobre o filme por causa do Charlie Kaufman? Bem, O Despertar da Mente é a verdadeira razão, considerando que o argumento deste filme foi escrito por Kaufman.
Vi este filme várias vezes, e voltei a vê-lo há poucos dias, e o mais incrível é que continua a fascinar-me. Para ser honesta, não me sinto capaz de escrever sobre este filme e como me afecta. Eu adoro-o. Além de estar fantasticamente editado, o que mais adoro é o guião, porque penso verdadeiramente que é maravilho. Charlie Kaufman é brilhante e tem uma maneira genuína de lidar e trabalhar com a emoção humana, sobre a condição humana e todos os tipos de interacção humana que possamos pensar.
Não me lembro em que crítica escrevi isto, mas eu acredito verdadeiramente que que as memórias (boas ou más) moldam-nos e eu não consigo deixar de estar fascinada com a nossa mente e o nosso cérebro. O Joel tenta apagar as memórias da sua namorada, Clementine, por desprezo, dado que ela o tinha feito também. Mas a nossa mente não domina o nosso coração, e eles tentaram esquecer-se um do outro mas, no fim, foram atraídos um ao outro.
Eu sei que esta crítica não diz muito sobre o filme e o seu enredo, mas eu sinto-me incapaz de falar mais sobre ele, sem fazer spoilers e o estragar para vocês, por isso...Por favor, se nunca o viram, vão vê-lo! Se já o viram, voltem a vê-lo, porque de todas as vezes que o fizerem, irão reparar em algo diferente.

Review:
Do you remember that when I wrote Anomalisa’s review I said I was curious about that movie due to Charlie Kaufman? Well, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind is the real reason, considering that Kaufman wrote its script.
I saw this movie several times, and I watched it again a few days ago, and the incredible thing about it is that it doesn’t cease to amaze me. To be honest, I don’t feel capable of writing about this movie and how it affects me. I just love it. Not only is beautifully edited, but what I love the most is its script, because I really think it is wonderful. Charlie Kaufman is brilliant and has a genuine way of working about human emotion, human condition and all kinds of human interaction you can think of.
I can’t remember in which review I wrote this, but I truly believe that memories (good or bad) shape us into what we are; and I can’t stop being amazed by the wondering about our brains and minds. Joel tries to erase his memories of her girlfriend, Clementine, out of despite, since she has done it before. But our mind doesn’t rule over our heart, and even though they tried to forget each other, in the end, they are drawn to each other.
I know that this review doesn’t say much about the movie and its plot, but I feel that I can’t write much more without spoiling it, so… Please, if you haven't see it yet, go watch it! And if you have, go and watch again, because you’ll always notice something different.

Finalmente, temos o segundo livro do ACOTAR !!! Yay! Não imaginam o quanto eu estava ansiosa por ler este livro...Podemos dizer que sacrifiquei umas horas de sonho para o ler o mais depressa possível. Este livro merece mais que as 4.5*, mas não chega bem às 5*, digamos que é um 4.75*.
Neste segundo livro, encontramos Feyre, a nossa protagonista, numa posição muito diferente daquela em que esta se encontrava no início do primeiro livro. Muito aconteceu desde Under the Mountain... E eu não quero fazer spoilers, por isso esta crítica é muito difícil!
Apenas digo que Feyre vai ter de lidar com o acordo que fez com Rhysand, o High Lord da Corte da Noite. Já mencionei que adoro noites estreladas e, como já devem ter reparado noutras críticas, tenho uma (grande) queda para “Bad Boys with a heart of gold”?
Se lerem a minha crítica do livro anterior, sabem que fiquei muito intrigada com a personagem deste High Lord. E, apesar de gostar muito do Tamlin no primeiro livro, é com pena que digo que fiquei muito desiludida com ele – apesar de tudo fazer sentido no livro, e se assim não fosse, ir-me-ia sentir muito dividida entre duas personagens de que gostaria bastante.
Que mais posso dizer sem estragar este livro incrível? O Rhys é incrível, os seus amigos também, a Corte dos Sonhos é a melhor coisa de sempre (mesmo com a sua divisão), e houve surpresas e coisas que não esperava de nada que acontecessem.
Termino rapidamente, dizendo apenas que não acredito que o próximo livro só sairá em Maio de 2017, supostamente. Mal posso esperar!

Here’s the second book of ACOTAR , finally!!! Yay! You can’t imagine how anxious I was to read this book… I’ve missed quite a few hours of sleep on the count of this book, trying to finish it as quickly as possible. This book deserves more then 4.5* but it doesn’t quite reach 5*, so I’ll say it’s a 4.75*.
In this second book, we find Feyre, our main character, in a much different position than the one we had found her in the beginning of the first book. A lot has happened since Under the Mountain… And I’m trying really hard not to spoil the book for you, so this is a hard review!
I’ll only say that Feyre is going to have to deal with the agreement she made with Rhysand (Rhys), the High Lord of the Night Court. Did I mention that I LOVE starry nights and, maybe you’ve noticed this in some of my other reviews, I also have a MAJOR crush for “Bad Boys with a heart of gold”?
If you’ve read my review of the previous book, you’ll know that I was very intrigued by Rhys’ character. And, even though I really, really liked Tamlin in the first book, it is with great sorrow that I say that I was very disappointed with him in this book – but it was needed and it makes perfect sense within the storyline, so I’m not too mad about it. After all, I don’t think I would like to be divided between two great characters (and much less having to think about the couples and who I would like to be with whom).
What else can I tell you about this incredible book? Rhys is awesome, his friends are awesome (and please Sarah, don’t kill them! You’ll break my heart if you do it!), the Night Court is the best thing ever created (even with its division), and there were some surprises throughout the book that I definitely did not see coming.
In short, I can only say that I can’t believe I’ll have to wait until May 2017 to read the next book, supposedly. I can’t wait!
