Hi there beautiful people!
Today we bring you a new book tag. As you can see, it’s Pokemon themed. Do you play Pokemon Go? Which team are you? Tell us everything!
This tag was created by
Read at Midnight, combining books and Pokemon in one funny tag. We will not tag anyone in particular, so anyone who wants to answer feel free to do it. In case you do, please share with us your answers! :)
CARLA: To be honest, this is a difficult question, since I wasn’t much of a reader as a child – heresy, I know! But I think
Harry Potter is the most correct answer.
JOANA: I think the books that made me start reading were
The Twins at St. Clare’s, by Enid Blyton (my mum’s collection),
First Term At Malory Towers , by the same author, and also my mum’s collection, although I always preferred the twins. After that,
The Five Find-Outers , also by Enid Blyton, and at the same time I started reading
The Princess Diaries , and
Trixie Belden , a bit later.
CARLA: Well, I think I have to say
Harry Potter again, I grew up with him, and I can never get tired of him.
JOANA: The Twins at St. Clare’s. Maybe if I had read
Harry Potter earlier, those would be the chosen books, but it’s not the case, so he’s overcome by the adventures of these twins in a boarding school.
CARLA: I can’t say I was ever interested in this book, I must confess hat I only read it because I wanted to have my own opinion about it, without exterior influence. I’m obviously referring to
50 Shades of Grey.
JOANA: Good question… Maybe the
Twilight, because I started reading them before the “twilight fever” started (the books and the films), but afterwards I had no interest in them, even though I ended up reading them fully.
CARLA: Hm… I can’t think of anything. I can say
House of Night saga, it’s like a mix of
Harry Potter with
Twilight, but I don’t like it… I may say it’s the opposite, in fact.
JOANA: The first book of the
Nantucket Brides Trilogy, “True Love”. As you can see in
the review regarding this book, it’s very similar to
Lavender Morning, still I really enjoyed it. This happens a lot with Jude Deveraux’s books, but I still like them.
CARLA: For years I say I want to read
War and Peace by Tolstoi, but as soon I see how big it is, it goes straight to my “later” pile.
JOANA: Usually, I not afraid of large books, but I have to admit that the series
Outlander is a bit intimidating. I even have the first books in Portuguese, but I’ve only read the first one, not so long ago, and in English, on my tablet (which is quite lighter than the book, obviously). To read them in Portuguese, I would need some courage.
CARLA: Honestly, none – in any way this question can be interpreted; not even because it’s a horror story (and I read a few) or because it hooked me to its story. My sleep always prevails.
JOANA: There are only two books that can fit in this category, and I only remember the name of one of them. However, none of them kept me awake because it was scary or a horror/suspense/thriller. The one I recall is
Wildwood Dancing , by Juliet Marillier. Due to some weird reason, I had strange dreams every night I read it, and it made the reading a bit harder – okay, I’ll be honest with you: I’ve never finished the book, but I WILL!!!
CARLA: To tell the truth, I think I don’t have OTPs in literary terms, but in TV shows… so many!
JOANA: Although I really liked Feyre and Tamlin (
ACOTAR), Feysand – Feyre and Rhysand (
ACOMAF) has definitely became my OTP, way more than the initial couple. Also, Suze and Jesse, from
the Mediator books are another of by bookish OTPs.
CARLA: Honestly, I don’t know what to answer to this one, but maybe
The Fault in Our Stars, since I read it in one sitting, and it’s my annual rereading.
JOANA: A Court of Mist and Fury (ACOMAF)! I could NOT put down this book with everything that was happening.
CARLA: In this category I can say two:
Harry Potter and all the series/sagas linked to the
Dark Hunters.
JOANA: The series
Dark Hunters, by Sherrilyn Kenyon. Although I’m not absolutely sure I should count all her other worlds as spin-offs.
CARLA: I can't think of anything to answer this question, so, I'll leave it unanswered.
JOANA: The Fault in Our Stars. Me and the books that make me cry – it’s a bittersweet relationship. I can actually like them, but I love happy endings, and sometimes I need them. So, when Carla recommended this book, I thought I might like it, but not love... which is what actually happened.
CARLA: Hm… there isn’t one book/saga that I *really* want to read, but maybe
Red Queen.
JOANA: The series
Throne of Glass,
Red Queen and
Daughter of Smoke & Bone . The first two I’ve already read the first books, but I haven’t started the last series.
CARLA: I’m completely in love with
Harry Potter’s collect’s edition. One day.. One day!
JOANA: I would like to have a special edition of the series
ACOTAR and, maybe,
Outlander.
CARLA: The Art of Being Normal by Lisa Williamson, since I saw it on Goodreads I fell in love with its synopsis. I WANT O READ THIS!
JOANA: The Bone Witch, by Rin Chupeco. I found this book on NetGalley when I was looking for something that might fit this category and this showed up! I loved the synopsis and the cover!
CARLA: I have a few authors who are on my autobuy list, such as John Green, Nora Roberts, Sherrilyn Kenyon, Neal Gaiman.
JOANA: My auto-buy readers are, among others: Sarah J. Maas, Juliet Marillier, Jude Deveraux, Madeline Hunter, Mary Balogh, Sherrilyn Kenyon, Tessa Dare, Sarah MacLean, Loretta Chase, Julia Quinn, Emma Wildes, Eloisa James, and so many more...
CARLA: I’m not exactly one of those who get very focused into release dates. It comes out, when it comes out. I have so many books on my TBR, that I always have something to read. Although, there are a few books I want them to be translated to Portuguese, because I want them all in the same language (since I’ve ended up reading it in English).
JOANA: I’ll only speak about the Portuguese versions because those are the ones that actually that a bit of time to be released. Sherrilyn Kenyon’s books fit here, as well as Jude Deveraux’s, although I don’t have much to complain about.
