Capa mais deliciosa: A capa nacional (a da direita)
Porquê? Carla: Prefiro, tal como a Joana, a capa nacional. Não só gosto muito mais da imagem que tem como base, como da composição e da paleta de cores escolhida para o lettering.
Joana: Prefiro a capa portuguesa. O enquadramento tanto do título como do nome da autora parece-me melhor e gosto das cores e da imagem usada, é romântica sem ser demasiado óbvia.
E vocês, qual a vossa favorita?

Why? Carla: I prefer the Portuguese cover just like Joana. Not only I think the picture chosen for the Portuguese cover is better than the original, but also think the composition and colours used on the lettering are way more appealing.
Joana: I prefer the Portuguese cover. The framework of both the author's name and the title looks better and I really the colours that were used, as well as the image - it creates a romantic cover without being to obvious.

A combater ao lado de homens numa guerra para acabar todas as guerras, Diana irá descobrir a capacidade máxima dos seus poderes… e o seu verdadeiro destino.
Opinião:
Eu nem sei se vou ser capaz de passar para palavras o que senti ao ver Wonder Woman. Eu estava tão ansiosa por ansiosa por este filme, mas ao mesmo tempo tão receosa que o filme não fosse capaz de estar ao nível do que era preciso. Mas foi um receio em vão porque a Wonder Woman está maravilhosa (pun intended!).
É certo que o filme tem as suas falhas, não há filmes perfeitos, mas Wonder Woman atingiu as minhas espectativas, e talvez mais. Não é o primeiro filme de super-heróis realizado por uma mulher, mas é o primeiro realizado por uma mulher em que o filme é centrado numa mulher, e eu não poderia estar mais orgulhosa do produto final. Wonder Woman não é um filme com uma personagem feminina, mas claramente para um público masculino – nem de perto nem de longe.
Diana Prince, a nossa querida Wonder Woman, é um exemplo para todas as meninas por esse mundo fora. Forte, determinada, com o coração no sítio certo, e que não deixa de ser feminina. Fiquei tão satisfeita com a representação feminina neste filme (as Amazonas são qualquer coisa de extraordinárias) que, mesmo o filme em geral tendo os seus defeitos, fiquei tremendamente contente com ele. Assim que terminou eu só conseguia dizer que estava tão, mas tão, orgulhosa de Wonder Woman. E para mim fez com que este se tornasse no meu filme favorito de super-heróis e super-heroínas. Quero revê-lo brevemente!

Review:
I do not know if I’m capable of writing about what I’ve felt watching Wonder Woman. I was so anxious about this movie, but at the same time, so afraid it would not meet my expectations. It was in vain, because Wonder Woman is wonderful (pun intended!).
I must admit, this movie has its flaws, there isn’t perfect movies, but Wonder Woman met my expectations, and maybe more. It’s not the first superhero movie directed by a woman, but it was the first superhero movie centred on a female lead directed by a woman; and I couldn’t be more proud of it. Wonder Woman is not a movie with a female lead directed to male viewers – quite the opposite.
Diana Prince, our beloved Wonder Woman, is the example all little girls needed throughout this world. She’s strong, determined, with her heart in the right place, and she never stops being feminine. I was so pleased with all the female representation in this movie (the Amazons are so badasses!) that, even though the movie in its general is not incredible, I was so, so happy with it. As soon as the movie finished, I could only smile and saying that I was tremendously proud of Wonder Woman. This made Wonder Woman becoming my favourite superhero movie of all time. And I want to rewatch it very soon!

Opinião:
Quem me conhece sabe que adoro mitologia, qualquer que seja a sua base. Ainda que eu esteja muito mais familiarizada com a Grega, a mitologia em volta da lenda do Rei Artur sempre me fascinou. Qualquer que seja a obra (e o seu formato) sobre este assunto eu quero absorvê-la, por esse motivo King Arthur estava na minha lista de filmes a ver.
Mas antes de mais nada há que referir o seu realizador, Guy Ritchie... e para quem acompanha o trabalho deste realizador já imagina o que eu possa estar a querer insinuar. Ritchie tem um estilo e uma forma de realizar filmes muito própria, uma marca sua que está mais do que evidente em todos os seus filmes. Ao assistir a este filme é impossível não notar nas semelhanças com Sherlock, por exemplo. Tem exactamente o mesmo estilo de narrativa, o mesmo estilo de imagem e de ritmo. Para mim, pode-se perfeitamente pegar tanto num filme como no outro tirar a temática específica e temos exactamente o mesmo filme.
Com isto não quero dizer que o filme seja mau, que não o é. Por um lado é bom, porque já se sabe com o que se pode contar, mas por outro, não há espaço para a surpresa e novidade. Eu gostei do filme e diverti-me, ainda que algumas cenas de CGI me tenham incomodado por serem demasiado exageradas e pouco credíveis.
É um filme cheio de acção e momentos cómicos. Não esperem grande coisa dele, mas se forem de mente aberta (e isto é dica para quem conhece a lenda, pois... soltem-se dela se querem aproveitar o filme) e sem grandes expectativas são capazes de gostar.

Review:
Those who know me know that I love mythology, no matter which one. Although I’m more familiar with Greek mythology, all mythology around King Arthur’s legend always fascinated me. I’ll always want to absorb anything related to Arthur, and for that reason King Arthur was on my watchlist.
First of all, I need to mention the director of this movie, Guy Ritchie… and for those who follow his work must guess what I’m trying to say. Ritchie has a unique style and form of directing a movie; he has a specific mark, which is evident in almost every of his movies. Watching this movie, it was impossible not noticing the similarities to Sherlock, for example. They have the same narrative style, same photography and rhythm. For me, we can easily take the specifics of each movie and have the exact same story.
Please, note that I’m not saying this is a bad movie, which it isn’t. It can be a good thing, since we already know what we will get, but it could also be a bad thing because there is no room for surprise and novelty. I liked the movie and had fun, but some CGI scenes bother me since they were truly exaggerated.
It’s an action packed movie, full of funny moments. Don’t go see this movie expecting a masterpiece, but if you go with an open mind (and this is a hint for those who know the legend… that’s the only way you can enjoy the movie) and without high expectations you may actually like the movie.

Opinião:
Que eu sou fã de Marvel acho que já nem é preciso dizer, pois é evidente… por essa razão é óbvio que iria querer ver Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 2. O primeiro é um dos meus filmes favoritos da Marvel, pela aposta na comédia e no comic relif e isso voltou a acontecer neste segundo filme.
Podemos facilmente resumir este filme a: daddy issues, o que parece simplório, mas não tem que o ser. Não vou escrever muito sobre este filme porque apesar de ter sido um filme muito divertido (e cheio de easter eggs), acho que saí da sala de cinema mais satisfeita com o primeiro filme do que com este. No entanto, tenham em mente de que gostei bastante e diverti-me imenso! Eu recomendo, sem sombra de dúvida, este filme.

Review:
It’s pretty evident that I’m a Marvel fan, so there is no need to say it again… for that reason it’s obvious I would want to watch Guardians of the Galaxy vol.2. The first movie is one of my favourites from Marvel Cinematic Universe, due to the comedy and comic relief; and that has happened again in this second movie.
We can easily summarize this movie as daddy issues, which may seem simplistic, but it doesn’t have to be. I won’t write much about this movie; although it’s a really funny movie (and full of easter eggs), I think I enjoyed the first movie more than this one. Nevertheless, have in mind that I really liked this movie, and I would always recommend this movie to anyone.

Antes de mais nada quero agradecer à Curiosity Quills por me ter cedido Alice Takes Back Wonderland para leitura. Qualquer coisa relacionada com Wonderland e eu estou pronta para agarrar com unhas e dentes.
Muito sinceramente não sei o que estava à espera deste livro. O início foi algo enfadonho e, confesso, continuei a ler porque era um eARC do qual teria que escrever uma crítica. Mas ainda bem que o fiz porque melhora substancialmente. Não fazia ideia que Alice Takes Bacl Wonderland seria uma mistura de tantos contos de fadas (só para referir alguns: Peter Pan, Pinocchio, Branca de Neve… entre muitos outros, mas também mitologias como a Grega e Viking.) e acho que essa foi uma das partes que mais gostei do livro. Há crossovers entre os vários contos, havendo mesmo sobreposição de personagens – que não vou revelar para não deixar passar nenhum spoiler.
Apesar de o livro melhorar mais ou menos a meio, o livro soube-me a pouco. Não senti aquele nonsense e maravilhoso de Wonderland. Fiquei um tanto ao quanto desiludida, ainda que tenha sido uma leitura minimamente decente, pois não tiro o mérito ao autor, uma vez que é, de facto, um livro bem escrito. Só que para mim falta qualquer coisa que para um livro relacionado com Wonderland tem que ser.

First of all, I want to thank to Curiosity Quills for sending me Alice Takes Back Wonderland so I could read it. I’m always ready to read anything related to Wonderland.
To be honest, I don’t know what I was expecting from this book. The beginning was boring, and I must confess, I only continued with my reading because it was an eARC sent to me so I could review it. But I’m glad I did it, because it got a lot better. I didn’t know Alice Takes Back Wonderland was suppose to mix so many different fairy tales (just to name a few: Peter Pan, Pinocchio, Snow White… and so many others, but also mythologies as Greek and Viking), and I think it was the best part of the book, in my opinion. There are crossovers between fairy tales, and some characters even overlap – I will not reveal any of them, so I avoid spill spoilers.
Although this book gets better halfway through it, it's a bit unsatisfactory. I didn’t feel the nonsense and wonder usually associated to Wonderland. I felt disappointed, even though it was a half decent reading. It was actually well written, the author did a good job. But for me, there is missing something really important for a book related to Wonderland.
Capa mais deliciosa: A capa orginal (a da esquerda)
Porquê? Carla: Apesar de não ser fã de nenhuma das capas, acho a original (a da esquerda) bem mais apelativa e agradável que a capa nacional.
Joana: Gosto bastande das duas capas. A original tem tons verdes e fluídos de que gosto e a portuguesa vai por tons mais cor-de-rosa e tem uma leitora na capa, o que é um ponto a favor! Mantendo-se no mesmo género das outras capas, a portuguesa pode não dar logo a entender que é um romance histórico (excepto pelo título), enquanto que a original é facilmente reconhecível como romance de época. No fim, acabo divida entre as duas capas...
E vocês, qual a vossa favorita?

Why? Carla: I'm not fan of either cover, but I think the original cover (the one on the left) is more appealing and pleasing to the eye than the Portuguese cover.
Joana: I really like both covers… The original has fluid green tones that I like and the Portuguese cover has more a pink shade and, of course, a reader on the cover which is a point for them! The Portuguese cover maintains the same type of cover has the other ones in this series, and you might not be able to tell right away that it’s an historical romance (except for the title), whereas the original cover is easily recognizable as a historical romance. In the end, I’m torn between both covers....
Hoje venho vos apresentar mais uma loja etsy, desta vez Nerdy Grl Designs. Há já algum tempo que conheço esta loja pelo Instagram. Tem coisas adoráveis e sempre tive grande vontade de adquirir alguns produtos. Aproveitando o fim de semana de St. Patrick e um desconto disponível na altura, decidi avançar com a compra.
Segundo o que sei todas as encomendas têm direito a um freebie, como fiz a encomenda durante o St. Patrick’s Day, tive direito a um pequeno pote de ouro. O que eu encomendei? Três sets de marcadores magnéticos: um da Princess Sparckles Unicorn, outro de Doctor Who e, um terceiro, da Sailor Moon (há uma falha imensa porque não haver um set com as restantes Sailors). À parte destes sets, encomendei dois marcadores, ditos normais, de Doctor Who (duuuuh, obvs!) e outro do Suicide Squad, com uma quote da Harley Quinn.
Todos os marcadores têm uma qualidade incrível e são lindos, no entanto achei o shipping um pouco tempo, em comparação com outras lojas do género. Ainda assim, gostei muito de tudo o que comprei e muito possivelmente irei voltar a comprar mais desta loja.
I’m here today to show you another Etsy store; this time is Nerdy Grl Designs. I’ve been checking out this store for a while, since I discovered it on Instagram. It has such adorable things, and I always wanted some. I took advantage of St. Patrick’s Day and used the discount to make my first order.
According to what I know, all orders has a freebie, and since I made my order on St. Patrick’s weekend I got a pot of gold. And what I ordered? Three magnetic bookmarks sets: Princess Sparkles Unicorn, Doctor Who and, and Sailor Moon (which is a pity there isn’t a set with the other Sailors!). On top of that I also ordered two “normal” bookmarks: one Doctor Who themed (duuuh, obvs!) and another from Suicide Squad with a quote from Harley Quinn.
All bookmarks have such good quality and they are all beautiful, although I think the shipping took a bit too long, comparing to other similar Etsy stores. Nevertheless, I loved evbeything I got, and I will definitely going back a buy more stuff in the future.

Opinião: Beast's Tale é o volume que se segue a Belle's Tale, que já escrevi uma review e podem ler aqui. Neste segundo volume temos a estória d'A Bela e do Monstro contacta pela perspectiva do Monstro e, sem qualquer sombra de dúvida, foi muito mais interessante de ler. Como já referi na minha crítica ao Belle's Tale, a estória d'A Bela e o Monstro não é a minha favorita, mas está no TOP de favoritas, daí a minha curiosidade por estes mangas (e também pelo filme que ainda não tive oportunidade de ver).
Tal como disse anteriormente, neste volume temos a perspectiva do Monstro, não só vemos os mesmos acontecimentos pelos olhos desta personagem, como temos o seu background e o que aconteceu para que a maldição fosse lançada. Achei este volume mais interessante, pois consegui, muito mais facilmente, criar ligação com o Monstro, coisa que não aconteceu no primeiro volume com a Belle com muita pena minha.
Foi uma excelente leitura, e que veio complementar da melhor forma (sendo que até supera) o volume anterior. Não falei da arte até este momento, pois está mantém-se fiel ao estilo manga e ao mesmo nível que o volume anterior. Beast's Tale foi uma boa leitura, melhor que o volume anterior, e eu recomendo para quem gosta do género e d'A Bela e o Monstro.

Review: Beast’s Tale comes after Belle’s Tale, which I already reviewed here. In this second volume we have the Beast’s point of view of Beauty and the Beast, which was, without a doubt, way more interesting than the first volume. As I already wrote in my Belle’s Tale’s review, Beauty and the Beast is not my favourite Disney fairy tale, but I really like it and it’s in my TOP favourites, hence my curiosity for these mangas (and also the movie,which I haven't had the opportunity to watch yet).
As I already said, in this volume we have the Beast’s point of view; we see the same events from the first volume through this character’s eyes, but also what happened before. I think this volume is way more interesting than the first volume, since I connected more easily with the Beast than I ever felt wit Belle – which is a shame for me.
It was an excellent reading, and it complemented in a really good way (and it’s actually better) the first volume. I didn’t write about the art, because it’s faithful to its style from the previous volume. Beast’s Tale was a good reading, way better than the first volume, and I really recommend it for those who like Beauty and the Beast.
